Effects of Dactinomycin on the Growth of Various Organ in Chick Embryos

Abstract
|
|
|
The authors intended to determine the effects of Dactinomycin on the weight gain of body weight and various organs of chick embryos. On the 6th day of development, 1,ug and 2pg of Dactinomycin were injected into chorioalIantoic sac of each incubated egg of two groups.
Between the 12th and 18th day of development, a daily total of 30 treated. Eggs of each group was broken for wighing the body weight and five organs ?brain, hear lung, liver and kidney of chick embryos. The dada were applied with relative growth formula to analyse correlation of growth pattern of various organs.
The results are summarized as follow:
1) In the growth gradient; Control group of kidney and 2,ug injected group of all the organs studied except kidney has growth center on the 12th day of development. Growth center of 1,ug injected group of all the organs studied excpt heart appeared on the 18th day of development. Growth center of control group of brain and heart was on the 15th day, I,ug injected heart on the 17th day of development.
2) In the coefficients of relative growth to bodyweight; Ipg injected group of liver and all the groups of kidney were of positive allometry, the others showed negative.
